Aleesa J. Naish

   Minister of Education
        
Aleesa J. Naish holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Stetson University (1986) in DeLand, Florida, and the Master of Church Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1989) in Louisville, Kentucky.   The daughter of long-time Baptist educator, the late Jack H. Naish, Aleesa has been involved in ministry from a very young age.  In October of 2007, Reverend Naish was ordained into the ministry by Southside Baptist Church.
 
Prior to coming to Southside, Aleesa held church staff positions in Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Alabama. While in Mississippi, she served the First Baptist Church of Marks as Minister of Music and Youth. During her tenure there, Aleesa was also the Associational Youth Minister for the North Delta Baptist Association, State Music Specialist for  Older Children, and worked on the Creative Camping Staff of Texas.  Most recently, Aleesa served as Assistant to the Dean in the School of Performing Arts at Samford University, Dr. Milburn Price. During that time, she maintained a private oboe studio  and performed on several recitals and concerts as well as oboe soloist for the Southern Baptist Church Music Conference held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.  Currently, Aleesa has also served as adjunct instructor in the Department of Music at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
  
In her free time, Aleesa enjoys the outdoors, playing golf, going to movies, reading, and spending time with her dogs, Kaytee and Zoe and her two cats, Freon and Purrsee.
